Thurs. August 15th: “Moonstock”

Celebrating the 50th anniversary year of both the Moon Landing and Woodstock with music, $2.00 BBQ plate (burgers, hot dogs and sides at 1969 price), and space travel theme fun for the kids. Dress up hippie or astronaut (your own or we can lend you an outfit) and have a photo-op on our special “moon surface.” 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Thurs. July 18th: Cory Pratt / Maine Alpaca Experience

Cory Pratt will talk about raising alpacas and her business, Maine Alpaca Experience. 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Free!
Thurs. July 11th: Strawberry Festival

Come to the Library’s Annual Strawberry Festival on Thursday July 11th from 1:00 to 4:00. Delicious strawberry shortcake is available for $5.00, as well as a variety of baked goods. Bid on raffle items (themed baskets and a camp chair with supplies) – tickets are $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00. See you there!

There will be no Tea & Talk for July, but the Library will be open for regular business between noon and 3 p.m. We will be closed for the holiday but will reopen on Friday from 3 – 6 p.m.
Thurs. June 20th: Open House & Children’s Room Dedication

The Library’s first 2019 Summer Evening Program and Annual Open House will take place on Thursday, June 20th from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. We will dedicate the Children’s Room to our late friend and colleague Bob Fernald. Light refreshments will be served. Free!
Wednesday, June 5th: Quilts Encore

June 5th Tea & Talk: In April we had a wonderful first Wednesday program on the Art of the Quilt. However, because of bad weather, few were able to attend. On June 5th please join an encore discussion from 1:00 to 2:30 at the Library. We will display our favorite quilts and talk about quilting designs and methods. Refreshments will be served. Wednesday, May 1st: Women in the Workplace

This month’s Tea & Talk will focus on working women over the past 50 years. Bess Carter will present a discussion of the challenges and rewards for women as the workplace changed. What was it like for women workers in the 1960s and 1970s? What attitudes and expectations stood in our way? Join us for a discussion at 1:00 at the Franklin Library. Refreshments will be served. Library Closed Saturday March 23rd
The Library will be closed on Saturday March 23rd so that staff can attend a memorial service for Steven Lane.
