
Friday After-School is Underway! Now Thru May 2020
A reminder that the Library’s Friday After-School Program has begun! This Friday’s (10/25) session includes a guest instructor on outdoor skills: how to use a compass. For sign-up details please see the flyer below.

Beginning Oct. 18th : Friday After School Program
Our Friday After School Program begins Friday Oct 18th. Sign up now by notifying the Mountain View School Secretary (207) 422-3200 or calling Linda Dinsmore at (207) 667-8915. It’s for kids in grades 2-6. The school bus will drop kids after school at the library but they will need a note to ride. Parents need to pick children up by 4:30 P.M. We will operate every Friday that school is in session until mid- May, 2020.

Wednesday Oct. 2nd : Haiku
(Postponed from an earlier date) “FIRST” Wednesday Tea & Talk
October 2nd from 1:00 P.M. – 2:30 P.M. “Haiku,” what it is and how to do it. Make your own mini book to take home. Join us and bring a friend!
Saturday October 12th : Fall Foliage Festival

Enjoy the beautiful fall foliage in the area and then plan to stop at the Franklin Library for lunch, hot soup, breads and gingerbread with whipped cream on Saturday October 12th from 11:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. Our favorite foliage drives are Route 182 between Cherryfield and Franklin and also Route 200 connecting Eastbrook, Franklin and Sullivan.
Thursday Sept. 19th : Taunton Bay

Join us on Thursday at 7 p.m. to hear Marlene and John Daley on the history of Taunton Bay; part 2 of our Franklin “Bay Series”. Last week, at the Historical Society, Kat Deely did a wonderful presentation on preserving and exploring Hog Bay. This week we will learn more about the beautiful water environments surrounding us. Refreshments will be served. Free!
Wed. September 4th: Haiku Workshop & New Books

Our First Wednesday Tea & Talk for the new season will be this Wednesday September 4, 2019 at the Franklin Library from 1:00 P.M. – 2:30 P.M. Cathy will be introducing some of our new books and explain how we acquired them and Linda will present a mini workshop on Haiku, a short form of Japanese poetry used to evoke images (perfect for the changing season). Everyone can do this and we look forward to seeing you.
Reminder: Lobster Fest this Saturday Aug. 24th
Come join us for our 2nd annual Lobster Fest on Aug. 24th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Enjoy a delicious lobster dinner (includes 1 whole boiled lobster, clams, corn-on-the-cob, dessert and beverage) and help support the Franklin Library. Tickets are $20.00 per person and are on sale now! To purchase or reserve a ticket, drop by the Library or contact us at thefranklinlibrary@gmail.com.
Wed. August 7th: No Tea & Talk Today
There will be no Tea & Talk on August 7th because another program has been scheduled for the same time slot. We plan to resume First Wednesday Tea & Talk on September 4th.
