Saturday, Oct. 13th 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Franklin Library’s 2nd Annual Foliage Festival. Vintage & collectibles sale: scarves, jewelry, rugs, vintage vinyl & more. Book sale. Food sale: delicious soup and baked goods. Activities for kids. Come visit the Library as the first stop on your foliage tour. Franklin was included in Down East magazine’s 2017 Fall Foliage Issue as part of “AN IDYLLIC AUTUMN ROAD TRIP”.


2018 marks the 150th anniversary of the publication of Louisa May Alcott’s “Little Women”. Our October Tea & Talk will feature a discussion of this great American book, its author Louisa May Alcott, and the influence of a unique community of writers, educators and social activists on Alcott’s career. Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 1:00. Refreshments will be served. Free transportation provided – please call 565-5054.

The Library will be closing at noon this Saturday 9/1 so that we can attend a service to celebrate the life of Bob Fernald. Friends and neighbors will gather to remember all of Bob’s good work and how much he meant to each of us – 12:00 to 2:00 at Bob’s home at 74 Hog Bay Road, Franklin. Aislinn Sarnacki , Bangor Daily News reporter (“1-Minute Hike Girl”) and blogger devoted to the Maine outdoors, will speak at the Library on Thursday Aug. 16th at 7:00.
